Things move quickly for Trump and for the viewer, especially in the first half of the film. Watching Trump go from being a rent collector in his father’s apartment complex to a powerful real estate developer is great cinema. In the second half, Cohn becomes less important to Trump, who is dating Ivana. In some ways, it’s really Jeremy Strong, who plays Roy Cohn, who steals the show. If nothing else, it’s a big step up from the filmmaker’s last film, the absolutely awful “Palm Springs” (2020) (worst film of the year), as well as a significant improvement over Amazon Prime’s most recent disappointing offering — a performance made possible in large part by the stellar ensemble (especially the three leads). “Brothers” It’s not an epic movie by any means, but it’s a nice way to have a laugh at home on a Friday night with a big bowl of popcorn, and that’s pretty satisfying in itself.
