An agnostic sex podcaster and a newly ordained rabbi fall in love; they discover whether their relationship will survive their very different lives and the intrusions on their family. It was originally titled “Shiksa,” which is also the last word spoken in the first episode. I was so excited about this episode! Some of the dialogue and storylines, especially in the first episode, didn’t hit the nail on the head. After a few minutes I thought, is this going to be crap? Well, I stuck with it and REALLY enjoyed it. The love story was passionate and they definitely had chemistry. And that first kiss. WOOFT. I think I got pregnant too. Also, lots of laugh out loud funny moments. 100% my sense of humor. Is it an Oscar winner? Probably not. Will people be offended? Absolutely. But it’s a feel-good story that was a light binge with likeable characters. I can’t wait for Season 2.
